You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger - 2010

Many people have written how they enjoyed Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger. For me, I found this film to be half baked. The pace and the story seem rushed, and the ending incomplete. Gemma Jones and Naomi Watts do their best here keeping the movie going. But it struggles with themes that were presented better in earlier films.

There's a lot of themes reexplored from the 1978 movie Interiors: we have the character of an angry, struggling writer who here Josh Brolin makes into a even more of a complete loser. We also have the same character of an older father who in the autumn years of his life has a crisis, inexplicably divorces his wife and remarries. Unfortunately here the film is so rushed we do not get same insight into Anthony Hopkins' Alfie as we did with E.G. Marshall.
